Focusing on the needs of the Brown community writ large, emphasizing our university statement on values, and our longstanding commitment to respectful dialogue and fair treatment of each and every member of our community. We serve as one of many university touchpoints and curators of initiatives that emphasize collective, community learning and we do so through signature events we lead ourselves, as well as through other events and initiatives we support. We also work with our partners in the Office of Equity Compliance and Reporting to offer nondiscrimination and anti-harassment training for a variety of university committees.

In response to climate concerns from a division, department, institute, center, office,  and/or their community members, and at the request of an appropriate dean, unit leader, and/or the Campus Climate Response Team (CCRT), ODI works with campus partners to provide a confidential review, an analysis, and a set of recommendations. 

The university’s Nondiscrimination and Anti-Harassment Policy, overseen by the Office of Equity Compliance and Reporting, requires that “educational and training modules for faculty, staff, students and other covered persons will be available through the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, University Human Resources, and the Division of Campus Life.”
